What is GHRP-6?

GHRP-6 stands for Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6. It is a peptide made of 6 amino acids, called a hexapeptide. It comes as a powder in a sealed vial.

It is designed to bind to the ghrelin receptor, a docking point on cells. This receptor sits in the pituitary gland, a small gland at the base of the brain.

What researchers study it for

• Growth hormone release. Labs study how it triggers the pituitary gland to release growth hormone (GH).
• Release pattern. Studies look at how it produces short bursts of GH, similar to the body’s own pattern.
